Take your machine quilting to the next level! This three day retreat will give you the skills, techniques and design ideas to confidently quilt complex motifs on your home sewing machine. Learn to respond to tension problems under the guidance of an experienced teacher. Topics include materials (thread, batting, needles), machine set up, walking foot designs, meandering variations, feathers, machine trapunto, continuous curves, micro fill and design elements. Slide shows, videos and on-machine exercises help teach concepts in a variety of ways to solidify your understanding.
Allison’s approach to quilting is based on the belief that quilting is half the creative processor making a quilt. As a machine quilting teacher, longarm quilter, pattern designer, and art quilter, Allison helps quilters build a quilting “vocabulary” of designs and motifs that fit into a variety of quilts.
